About

ABOUT OUR WORK…

OUR MISSION is dedicated to demonstrating, cultivating and integrating the principles, practice and promise of Gentle Teaching by:

  • Working together to create solutions, materials, and applications that support awareness, competence, and quality of life outcomes with a practice of Gentle Teaching;
  • Providing education, collaboration, resources and research for the advancement of skill and understanding about Gentle Teaching as a dynamic, relationship-building model for social well-being in individuals, families, educational/therapeutic environments, and direct human services;
  • Offering guidance and resources for effective mentoring, support, and enrichment of social-emotional development;
  • Creating verbal and non-verbal paths and mentoring processes, offering access to emotional support and social skills for personal development. Quality-of-life outcomes begin with connections of meaning and value taking root in the foundation of one’s intrinsic learning. The person-centered, relationship-building framework of Gentle Teaching cultivates coherence as it unifies one’s inner/emotional self with their outer/social self. The Institute invites others to learn and grow with a framework of Gentle Teaching, using dialogue and tools that build companionship and community.
  • Our work is to advance equality and justice of the heart, in mutuality and non-judgment, using Our Tools (hands, eyes, words, presence) for teaching others social-emotional awareness with the four pillars of Gentle Teaching: how to feel safe, how to feel loved, how to feel and be loving, and how to be engaged.

Welcome to the Institute of Gentle Teaching, a learning community for listening, questioning, observing, practicing, exploring and discovering solutions together for connections that value and improve quality of life.
